The Imitation Game
The Imitation Game is a movie based on a true story that remained hidden from the world for a long time. The movie starts with a brilliant Mathematics professor in Cambridge University, Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) being approached by British Government to work in a team because he is brilliant at solving puzzles. Alan is hired and works with a team on a secret project with a single aim, to break the Nazi’s communication machine called Enigma’s code. Enigma’s code is almost impossible to crack because it is recorded by the Nazi soldiers every day. So, even if the figure out the code somehow one day, it will turn obsolete the next day. Also, there are more than 159,000,000,000,000,000,000 combinations possible for a given code, which is impossible to go through every day. However, on one hand the whole team works together to analyse and try to break the code every day, Alan on the other hand works on building a machine which works on some kind of artificial intelligence which he believes won’t require a code on daily basis to break the message, but will be able to solve any kind of code immediately. However, with the addition of Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley), the behaviour of the team towards Alan and Alan’s behaviour towards others is hugely improved. During a party, Alan gets an idea that changes their entire life. Also, it is really awesome to see how a group of people control and end one of the biggest war the earth has ever seen.
